Security Improvements To Your Online Banking Account

Enhanced Online Banking Security will:

“You Asked, We Listened”

Your online security is of the utmost importance at Sound Community Bank.  As you may recall, we implemented Enhanced Online Banking Security in December 2006.  This program required our system to recognize your computer.  If it did not recognize the computer that you were using a “passcode” was sent via email.  Many of our clients contacted us and told us that this system made it difficult to access their information. Online Banking should be one of the easiest and most efficient ways for you to access your account anytime, anywhere.   We listened to your concerns. As a result, we have implemented a new safe and secure way to identify you and your computer.

Effective June 11, 2007, when you log into your online banking account, you will be asked to establish an answer to a challenge question.  This will be a question that is personal and specific to you, so it should be confidential, but also easy to remember.  An example of a typical challenge question might be “What was the name of your High School Mascot?”

After you establish the answer to this question and you login to Online Banking, you may be asked to provide this answer.  You also will be asked to register your computer so that it will be recognized in the future.  Subsequently, when you go to login to your account, if you are on a different computer or if your current computer is not recognized, the challenge question will be presented.  Simply enter the answer to the challenge question and you will be taken to the account access screen.

If for any reason you cannot remember the answer to the challenge question or you have any other difficulties accessing your account, please do not hesitate to contact us at 800-458-5585, extension 0.

Thank you for your patience during this security enhancement for Online Banking.  These updates have been implemented with your security in mind.  The protection of your personal and financial information is very important to us.  This is just one way that we can help to keep your information secure and easily accessible.
